We are looking for a master student in the Engineering team.
Thesis topic:
The proposed master thesis project focuses on developing data-driven approaches for the prognostics of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cells. The aim is to improve the prediction of fuel cell performance and lifespan, as well as helping to identify potential failures before they occur.
Project goals and expected outcomes:
- Investigate current prognostic models for PEM fuel cells.
- Implement and optimize data-driven methodologies.
- Assess the effectiveness of the models in real-world applications.
The goals and expected outcomes can be discussed and adjusted in collaboration with the master students.
Assignment:
- Conduct a literature review on prognostics for fuel cells.
- Preprocess operational data from PowerCell's systems.
- Apply machine learning models to predict lifespan and degradation patterns.
- Validate and refine the models using real-world data.
Desired skills:
- Strong background in data science, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of fuel cell technology, specifically PEM fuel cells, is a plus.
- Programming skills in Python or MATLAB for model development.
Supervision and support:
The student will receive support from PowerCell’s engineering team, with regular check-ins to provide guidance on both technical and industry-specific aspects.
